Visibility
There is a lot there for me to consider and ponder so that I can process over time. Class on air - I loved watching Hinewa with her tamariki learning about growing mould samples.
Our time in Rāhui gave both whānau and kaiako a wonderful opportunity for visibilty. We had been using a closed group fb page and were able to shift over to our class blog. The hui kūkara helped us open up our learning site for tamariki and a great learning growth period for me.

ReplyDeleteĀe, he tino pouako a Hinewā. Ko ia hoki te pouako o āku kōtiro tokorua, ko taku pōtiki anō tētahi o ngā ākonga i roto i tērā kiriata. Ko te tino painga o āna mahi, he rauemi hei āwhina i a tātau te hunga pouako reo Māori.

ReplyDeleteDeveloping a Matariki learning site is an exciting and wonderfully collaborative way to work in a team. We have just finished developing our first whole school TShaped literacy unit for this kaupapa and it did wonders for our whole staff morale post-Covid-19. We are new to this kaupapa but well supported with Woolf Fisher Professional Learning. We know we still have much to learn. We have our mahi on the school website, www.edmundhillary.school.nz under the learning tab. We used the multimodal data base template provided by Woolf Fisher rather than replicate the wheel but of course it will be a different approach for you working in the medium of te reo Maori. We are by no means expert but are happy with what we have achieved as a first try. Good luck with all your amazing mahi in Hokitika and let us know if we can do anything to help you.
